Welcome!!
A little about the design
I had been toying with doing a 'red and white' design for a while. I did do one previously (Barnyard Flight) but I admit to taking liberties with the concept of 'red' as I used some colours which are found in antique red and whtie quilts which have faded to the point they are closer to orange. This I wanted to be more classic and really two-tone.
This is quite an interesting discipline from a design perspective and as usual, it's kind of morphed into something else too. Because, when I was tinkering I started experimenting with different colours -but sticking to the two-tone concept - I realised this idea is a lot more flexible than just 'red and white'.
I know my lovely customers like most quilters, are fabric hoarders. So, rather than specify what colours to use, anybody doing this project is going to be let loose - the design has the colours labelled as just 'background' and 'contrast' and you are totally free to do what you want with it when it comes to choosing which colours to use. There are some ideas in the 'Two Tone Twist' folder in the media section of the general Modern Welsh Quilts page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1695203587384027
I suggest you do stick to the two-tone idea, though, but that is entirely up to you. Diet that stash!
The finished quilt measures around 78" x 96" but for those wanting a larger or smaller project there is scope for messing with borders to get to where you want to be.
It is a six month quickie project, starting in August 2023
