Designs in Makower uk fabrics!
It is a great privilege to collaborate with Makower uk to produce some designs for both the individual customer and shops who would like to operate fun programmes for their customers to enjoy.
My first 'outing' with Makower is at the CHSI Stiches show which occurs on 27-28th February 2022 and I'm very excited with what I've put together. The patterns will be available very soon after that so please put your requests in early!
If you would like any of these patterns and are an individual customer, please get in touch via my email ([email protected]) so I can help you. Why not suggest to your local quilt shop they have a programme with these designs?! Working together on something is so much fun!
If you own or are involved with a shop, please get in touch on the same email so we can talk about how I can get the patterns to you, what sort of programme you are thinking of running and how I can help you to make an extra-special 'event' for your customers. For past groups like this, I have written special messages for course participants, participated in timed Zoom meetings, and even visited sessions personally - and we've all had a lot of laughs along the way. Anything I can do, within reason, to make your programme a resounding succcess, just ask and I'll do my best! Working together, everybody benefits.

Croeso
'Croeso' means 'welcome' in Welsh and I designed this range to suggest Christmas flowers and foliage, complete with holly and poinsettias! The main theme is a Christmas wreath one sees so often hanging on doors. Why not jazz up your festive decor and table with items which shout a seasonal 'Welcome!
Aquarelle
Aquarelle is a special watercolour painting technique which gives a transparent, soft effect. At the end of a long and grey winter, I felt it would be a good thing to have something springlike, but gentle, to look forward to, and so the concept of this range was born. I wanted something eyecatching but which would equally be easy to live with, and give us all a bit of a boost!
Starfrost
Starfrost is a design I originally put together using another manufacturer's fabric, but having had a chat with various people at Makower, we felt that it would also work using some of their linen texture shades. The substitutions are not exact, so now there is a separate 'Makower' Starfrost pattern which differs from the original, but it was a fascinating process for me to tinker with something I knew well. I gained new insights into the design and hopefully gave it a whole new 'linen look' facelift!
This is the main quilt which is 92" square. Instructions include fabric quantities which are sufficient for the top and the binding.
I think for shops it would work wonderfully as a block of the month as it falls neatly into segments. If you don't show your customers the finished picture it would be really good as a mystery project because it would be so hard to guess the final layout from the component parts! |
