Four Winds Wallhanging
Inspired by the Four Winds block, wanted to do a sort of night-time interpretation of the Japanese 'falling cherryblossom' motifs. I have embellished mine with silver thread embroidery and small beads to add a layer of texture
I couldn't resist this fabric because it reminds me so much of when my son was small and chased butterflies around our garden, never ceased to make strange noises in the guise of 'talking to the birds' and generally got down and dirty with Nature. We used to call him 'Gigglebug' because that is simply what he was - a happy little boy. Now he is far too big for a crib quilt, as the teenage years are upon us the giggles have become slightly less frequent, and he no longer chases butterflies. But I hope others will go on an make their lovely happy, giggly memories with this crib quilt and THEIR happy little boys!
The pattern is available from my Craftsy store at the bargain price of $5!!
Inspired by my Australian friend Jacqui posting a picture of an exotic-coloured bird. She will tell you it is a 'galah', but to a Brit like me, it's a 'parrot'!
There is also a blue version - Parrot in Blue!
