Welcome!!
A little about the design
Some time ago in the main Modern Welsh Quilts Facebook group, I pointed members in the direction of an old Welsh folk tale about three of the great rivers of Wales (the Ystwyth, Hafren and Gwy - the two latter are known as the Severn and the Wye in English) which originate in the same mountain area but which take different routes to the sea? Here's the link to the tale for those interested https://ztevetevans.wordpress.com/2018/02/14/a-tale-of-three-rivers-the-ystwyth-the-severn-and-the-wye/
This has been knocking around the dark crevices of my mind ever since and I've been dibbling from time to time with ideas to make another triptych of designs based on the idea of the rivers. Anyway, push came to shove in the small hours of onemorning when I was having another encounter with post Covid insomnia, and so here is the first of the three.

Instalments
I will specify the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!
BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions. |
