Welcome!!

A little about the design

People who know me would tell you my mind is a bit of a strange and often dangerous place, and when the 'design worm' strikes there is absolutely no knowing what will emerge out the murk.

This design is one such instance, as, having a Covid-insomnia evening, I suddenly thought of how much I was looking forward to the programme 'Ski Sunday' coming back to the TV screen over the winter months and it was but a short step then to thinking about various skiiing trips of my youth, where good friends, good fun and beautiful scenery made for memorable experiences.

The majority of the blocks used have names involving 'friends' or 'friendship', because what is a skiiing trip without 'l'apres-ski' in good company??

It is an eight month project, starting in November 2022

I  specify the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!

BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of  the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions.
