Welcome!!
A little about the design
For various reasons I was poking around online, looking at a local Country Park. It's quite an historic place, and there are lots of weddings conducted there: in the course of my browsing I came across a picture of a beautiful bouquet, the colour scheme of which really 'spoke' to me, and I simply had to get out my design software and get busy with the colour swatch cards. Here's the link to the bouquet picture https://www.instagram.com/p/CmcOIOVsuD-/
The finished product uses all the colours in the bouquet, but when looking at the names of the colours I used, I was getting a lot more of a culinary feel, and as peaches with crystallised ginger are one of my favourite puddings, the rest is history! Whatever the name of the thing, it's something happy and bright to be working on. Never a bad thing!
In reality the background colour is a lot less blue, a little lighter and a little more grey than it appears here - it's one of the very few fabrics which don't come 'true' on my software. Have a look at the eucalyptus leaves in the bouquet picture and you'll get a better idea.
It is an eight month project, starting in February 2023

Instalments
I specify the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!
BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions. |
