Welcome!!
A little about the design
This design came about because I remember seeing a Moda range of fabric called 'Smoke and Rust' and the idea of the interplay of those two colours has been tickling the back of my mind for a while.
Also at the time of writing the UK domestic fowl population is under lockdown ('flockdown') because we are being menaced by avian flu and we have to keep our birds under cover. I have a flock of Dewlap Toulouse geese and just love their soft grey colouring, so the idea of using 'goose' blocks came into my head. It was thence just a small step to including some 'fox' blocks as well - and the two ideas blended into the whole 'grey and rust' colour idea. Sometimes things really do come into alignment!
The programme is a 10 month one because there is quite a lot to fit in there, and also a larger one - a fair few of my regular customers like very large quilts to work on so I didn't want them to feel left out. If you wish, you can just make a reasonably sized project from the first two 'layers'.
NB the colours I have used are some of the small number which don't come 'true' on my software. The overall effect is a little lighter and brighter than how it appears from the design pic!

Technical Stuff
The finished quilt measures around 108" It is a ten month programme, starting in February 2022. You can jump on and off at will though, so don't hold back if you want to start it. |
Instalments
I have specified the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!
BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions. |
