A little about the design
The Modern Welsh Quilts Facebook page is somewhere I spend a lot of time, and I'm pleased to say it's where a lot of my customers come to hang out as well. One of them posted a picture of a particularly delicious bundle of fabric, not realising I'd been working on a design which used pretty much identical colours. This was following a trip to the V&A Museum in London to see the exhibitoni of Christian Dior gowns, which I found utterly fascinating and which sparked a whole load of ideas of which this is one. A case of serendipity in action!
The finished quilt measures around 102"
It is a six month programme, starting in May 2020
I have specified the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!
BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions.
