Welcome!!

A little about the design

Those who are members of the Modern Welsh Quilts Facebook page know that I run a Limited Edition BoM every year, where the numbers are kept down and which is closed in perpetuity after a certain amount of time being 'open'. I never, ever reopen these programmes, which all have the prefix 'Castell' (Welsh for 'castle').  I was contacted several times one week about 'Castell Llangynwyd' which hass a lovely autumnal  feel to it, so I thought rather than disappoint everybody by saying I couldn't reopen that programme, I would design something in a similar palette to at least be able to say there was 'an alternative'.

This is for all those who haven't grown up enough to not still enjoy kicking their way through carpets of fallen autumn leaves, searching for conkers, sweet chestnuts and enjoying the cooler temperatures!

I will specify the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!

BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of  the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions.

Technical Stuff
The  finished quilt is around  76" x 100"

It will be a 10 month project
