Welcome!!
A little about the design
This design came about because it's a not-very-closely-guarded secret that I love china flatware generally, and one of my favourites is the category loosely described as 'blue and white'. As with many of my private vices, you can probably blame this on my grandmother, who had a similar fancy for pretty tea sets and whose 'blue and white' was the stuff of everyday meals. She did, however, have a couple of more 'posh' blue-and-white teasets, and as I have inherited these, they were very much in my mind when designing this programme. I usually display these with my collection of 'whiteware' - but that's a topic for a whole other time!
To attempt to keep the maximum number of my customers happy in one fell swoop, the programme enables you to either make a smaller, square, project, or a larger rectangular one. For those just wanting to do the small project, they only need to get their paws on instalments 1-6. For those wanting to tackle the bigger design, they need the whole eight instalments.

Technical Stuff
The square finished quilt is around 70" square The larger rectangular quilt is around 74" x 94" For the square quilt you just need instalments 1-6 For the rectangular quilt you need to obtain all eight instalments. I have specified the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!
BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions. |
