Welcome!!
A little about the design
I originally intended to design a more traditional ‘blue and white’ offering, but as sometimes happens when I let my mouse wander over the design software, I didn’t end up with what I set out intending to achieve.
With this design comes the exposure of one of my guilty pleasures – I absolutely adore nipping over to the garden centre over the road from me where there is an impressive tank of truly monster koi. There are also little baggies of koi food which customers can buy to feed the creatures and this is usually my target. It’s not unusual to find me being the only adult engaged in ‘feeding the fish’, along with a load of kiddies. I ignore the pitying glances of passing adults who are probably wondering why this fat, middle-aged lady is giggling away as loudly as any toddler as the koi come up to take the pellets from my hand. So I hope the blue and white afficionados will forgive my favourite fishies wriggling their way into this one!

Instalments
I have specified the range of fabrics I have used to design this quilt top in the first instalment, but you don't necessarily have to use them. You can diet your stash!
BUT... please, if you don't want to be disappointed, pay close attention to the depth and tone of the fabrics I have used. A lot of the impact of the design comes from this, and it will help you get a good result if you try to stay on the page as regards your substitutions. |
